We’ve been asked a lot of questions about general pests, pest control, termite inspections and termite treatments and signs of termites. We’re here to answer your questions and give you information to make the best decision for you and your family.

We want to educate, inform and empower our customers.

WILL UNTREATED TIMBER IN MY YARD ATTRACT TERMITES IN AND AROUND MY PROPERTY?

Yes. Untreated timber will attract termites. Remove any untreated timber from your yard. Don’t leave timber lying around.

I’ve been told if I live in a sandy area I won’t get termites?

No. Termites can and are found in any location. Living in a sandy area doesn’t make your property immune.

Do dripping taps and leaks bring termites to an area?

Yes. We see many termite infestations due to a leaking tap. It’s much easier and far less stressful to fix a leaking tap then it is to deal with termites. This includes air conditioner and hot water drainage pipes. They need to be directed away from the building.

Should I have my garden beds and stored goods away from the house? What about weep holes, should they be uncovered?

Yes. Garden beds and stored goods against, around or under your house serve as a super highway to your house for termites. And they offer termites a concealed entry, making them harder to see. Keep weep holes uncovered so you can keep an eye on them.

Do physical barriers in new homes stop termites from getting into a house?

No. While some of these physical barriers in new homes do have repellent in them, they are designed to deter termites. They can come out and around the physical barrier, making it easier to see the termite mud leads.

Will cutting trees back reduce the presence of ants and rodents?

Yes. It can help. We start by suggesting these simple fixes around your home. If you have ants and/or rats and mice in your house or around your property, we recommend trimming back any trees and branches so nothing is touching your home.

Are your products safe for use around children, pregnant women, allergy sufferers, pets and plants?

Yes. Our treatments are environmentally aware and safe for use around children and pets. They are recommended by general practitioners for use around allergy sufferers, pregnant women, children, pets and plants.

Will your products leave stains in and around my property?

We only use environmentally aware and safe products that are contamination free and won’t stain walls, carpets and cupboards.

How often should I get a termite inspection?

The Australian Standard recommends regular inspections by a fully licensed technician, not exceeding 12 months and more frequently in high risk areas.

How do I know if my property is in a high-risk area?

If your property is in the Sunshine Coast region you are in a high-risk area. A large number of homes in the area have been built where the bush once stood.

What areas of Caloundra and the Sunshine Coast do you service?
